Born on 28th of February 2002, Ylona is a singer, songwriter, and an actress in the Philippines. She is the third among the five children of Peter and Caridad Garcia. She was born and raised in Sydney, Australia.
Ylona is well-known for her beautiful and naturally high vocal range, no wonder why she had won from different singing competitions in Australia. In the past, in addition to her passion for music, she used to perform as a front act for famous Filipino great singers like Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo Mañalac, Martin Nievera and many others.
Her name came into prominence in the Philippines when she joined the PBB 737 Teen Edition in 2015 where she was given the title as “the Daldal Darling ng Australia” and where she was later announced as the 2nd Teen Big Placer at the end of the reality TV show. During her stay in “Big Brother’s House”, composing songs became her outlet in expressing her emotions, and one of her composed song entitled “Win the Fight” had became as popular as her. From then on, Ylona became more famous and received more projects from ABS-CBN. At the early stage of her career in the entertainment industry, Ylona has already gained her momentum, having been nominated and had won some awards from different categories, she had run close with famous celebrities on different polls and awards ceremonies. Apart from this, she’s also been performing in noon time program It’s Showtime and on the ASAP stage every Sunday. Ylona, together with her on-screen tandem and former housemate (PBB) Bailey made their first TV series appearance as part of the extended cast in one of the ABS-CBN’s top-rating prime time series, “On the Wings of Love”. It was also in 2015, when Star Music introduced Ylona as the Spotify representative for 2016. Fans are expecting that Ylona would be having her own album very soon. Ylona and Bailey were also chosen to be the Myx celebrity VJ for the month of February. January 21st 2016 at the Rigodon Ballroom in Peninsula Manila, Coca-cola announced their group of ambassadors for their newest campaign, and Ylona was one of the privileged celebrities to be taking part in the said new campaign. Another milestone in her career, on 23rd of February 2016, Star Cinema includes Ylona (with Bailey) on the casts of the upcoming horror thriller movie “Bloody Crayons”.
Ylona may have been born and raised in Australia but her heart and her passion brought her back to the Philippines, where she inspires youth and other Filipinos to dream big, work hard for it, and make it happen.
